In the most recent project, 18 blocks of residential streets in Fairfield were reconstructed using portland cement concrete (PCC). Ten of those blocks were replaced with 6-inch reinforced PCC pavement over 6 inches of a granular subbase. The other eight blocks were replaced with 7-inch reinforced PCC pavement over a natural subgrade.

French-Reneker-Associates prepared a five-year plan identifying streets to be rehabilitated through reconstruction or resurfacing. Fairfield’s city council utilized this plan to choose the streets to be reconstructed. French-Reneker-Associates prepared drawings and specifications for the improvements and provided construction observation of the work. The project was financed with general obligation bonds.
